Hormone nutritionist Christabel Timpson at work

About Christabel

My health issues started around the age of 40. I’d recently stopped working due to feeling stressed and a bit burned out, and was then knocked by pneumonia. Over the following 18 months I developed terrible eczema, swollen eyes, chronic hay-fever, PMS and constantly felt tired. I was struggling through the day on caffeine, grazing on snacks and not eating proper meals.

After seeing a Nutritional Therapist, I found making simple changes to my diet empowering and life changing. I felt well, and my allergic reactions and PMS symptoms reduced in frequency. That is when I realised, I wanted a career in Nutritional Therapy.

Although I had worked in high street fashion for nearly 20 years, I previously studied biology at university and had always been interested in health, eating well, and understanding how the body worked. I spent the following four years training at the highly respected Institute for Optimum Nutrition graduating with a distinction in Nutritional Therapy (DipION).

What is nutritional therapy and how can it help?

Are you experiencing perimenopause, menopause, PCOS or endometriosis symptoms?

Hormone imbalance, anxiety, brain fog, poor skin and hair, weight gain, bloating, digestive issues, fatigue, low mood, disrupted menstrual cycle, fertility issues, low libido are all external symptoms of internal imbalance.

Nutritional therapy is an evidenced-based approach that considers all the systems of the body and how they inter-play, along with nutrients from the diet, to affect health. The focus is always on the individual, as many conditions or symptoms can be linked to an individual’s nutrition and lifestyle.

I am passionate about supporting women to take control of their health and well-being. I support the client along their journey, step-by-step, with nutritional guidance using a health coaching approach. My method is mainly a food-first approach, however functional testing and supplements may be suggested.
